Just another regular update and it pleases me that there is little to write though i am indeed stiff bored. Anyway, thank you KT for the one-day mall-loiter accompaniment days ago; it was enjoyable and enlightening and i sincerely appreciate it. xD

So i think the occassion i would like to share here would be another eating experience, this time @ Sushi Zanmai-1Utama, a kaiten style sushi restaurant. Yeap, sushi again... i kinda get hook on sushi nowadays. Well, if i were to thank someone for getting me into this, it would have begin from all the way back in secondary school, thanks to a fella called WN that hook me up with sushi. But lets leave that for another time... haha. Anyway, yeah, had tasted Sushi Tei previously and now i managed to try out Sushi Zanmai @ 1Utama unplanned.

Sushi Zanmai is always packed-Damn it. However this time, i queued up with my friend and managed to be seated. The orders took some time to arrive and we ordered:

> Soft Shell Crab Maki     - 1 plate (4 pieces)                                 rm 6.8  
> Sake Zanmai               - 1 plate (variety Salmon Nigirisushi)          rm 19.8
> Toro                          - 1 plate (5 piece Tuna Belly)                  rm 40.0

It was unplanned- so i did not bother to sit next to the sushi-belt; next time maybe. Well the menu of the restaurant was almost identical to Sushi-Tei, i wonder if they are of the same company. Anyway, the soft shell crab Maki was quite salty and the sushi rice were quite loose. Other Maki-typed sushi rice were loosely packed too. A loosely packed sushi rice is a disaster, and definitely not a good sushi. The salmon sushi were all very succulent and they have my favorite smoked salmon too! The Toro was very succulent too, however the big variation in size as compared to the menu really threw me off my chair. What a rip-off... though the menu do state that the illustration may vary from the real food.

Sake Zanmai - Yes, i took this pic with my mobile and you have to excuse me cause my mobile is not 8 MP or higher camera phone. Anyway, the real food kinda looks the same and as you can see, the Maki rice was loosely packed.

Well the price is quite normal for a place as such, the food was only so-so and the service, sigh...

# late bills - have to call 3 times for my bill to arrive, even my food arrives faster...

The thing i like about Sushi Zanmai is that they have this sweet sauce which i only found in sushi Tei and Sushi King so far. Well the down side is definitely the poorly compacted sushi rice, services, non-free green tea and non-free tissues.

All together : +tea + tissue + tax = rm 80.   X.X

Ah well, so much for a quick bite , i might revisit Sushi Zanmai again next time for another try, hopefully better experience.

p/s : I missed Sushi King especially for its dragonball...oops... i mean goldenball xD

Updates - May 31

May 31 - May is finally coming to an end and without notice, one month has passed since the end of my degree studies. Most of my friends have even pocketed their first working pay (i wonder if any would belanja... xD). Anyhow i haven't been blogging for quite some time and thus will do some backtrack of my prev holiday adventures.


The thing is, there is none. Haha, well except for lots of dining out, there is nothing worth mentioning here. Have tried some pretty good eating places and would like to especially mention Sushi Tei @ Tropicana mall. Just recently stumbled upon this kaiten-zushi restaurant when  was walking around few days back and decided to try it. It was good! Well, the sushi prices are pretty reasonable with the servings being quite generous. I especially like the ebi ten floss (if i remembered correctly the name). The salmon was fresh and juicy but i still preferred smoked salmon which the restaurant does not have unluckily. There is no picture taken unfortunately as i wasn't equipped with any camera, just my phone's and the dimly lighted place would not produce anything representable of the food there. Will definitely be back!

Apart from food, there was also the float procession which took place at the Buddhist Cempaka Lodge in conjunction with Wesak Day 2010 and i managed to take some photos but couldn't get most of the atmosphere there as it was partially raining (to be posted on next post).


So, basically that what's worth mentioning currently and one more month to go before new Sem starts.

lazy

My new favorite word is "lazy". Yes, it is already no surprise to most of my friends cause i have been throwing that word to them all the time. So right now, i am at home already and yes you guess it right, too lazy to do anything else but consider it good already that i'm not too "lazy" to blog... xD.

Well, now that final exam have been over for quite some time and that most of my friends have been job hunting or either working already, i felt that i should be doing something too during this holidays before masters starts. Maybe after 2-3 days of rest, i will think of something...haha. Till then, thanks for reading ma blog... :)

30th March, Tuesday - Well, its well past midnight and i ain't asleep yet. Had supper with friends and now is waiting for hair to dry out after shower before sleeping & so i decided to update my blog. Anyway, the end of my studies is nearing at a very fast pace and if not mistaken, perhaps i have only 3 more weeks before end of my semester. Well... kinda miss the good times i had with all my friends and the life i'm having now. It took me some time to get used to it at first but it was kinda enjoyable after that. Honestly, i'm reluctant to quit Uni life.

Well, life must go on anyway and i have little choice but to let nature run its course. So to you readers who are still in Uni, DO APPRECIATE and Enjoy your life here while u can! and thus saying so, i shall make my remaining days in this Uni as pleasurable and meaningful as possible. :)

 

FINALLY !

FINALLY!! fyp final draft is finally over. And so is with STAM. We placed 3rd... well, not bad xD. I oni get t participate 1/4 match and score nothin. Good Job 4th yrs!

Now that fyp final draft submission is over, i can actually take a breather before more work follows. It only means one thing, fun! plan plan plan! paintball, trips, outings? well, time is short and so is life... touch wood ... i mean literally.

So, shall keep this site updated on upcoming events!

Had a satisfying training for basketball, not many coursemates came though. Very tiring and in pain, but happy :). If i keep up today's level, i think i can still participate in STAM remaining matches. xD

Anway, battle of the bands is underway and i choose fyp work to watching it. Ho's recording it down so, mind as well, see the video later. A little bit hungry, maybe wan go yumcha later but dunno if can manage FYP o not... haha. Anyway, lets hope for the best!

Fallen

Well, we did dined in hell after all. After a ferocious battle (in which i did not even take part), we lose both battle though the scores for both sides are close enough. Nevertheless, it was 2 good match.

I on d other hand might just take the monday battle against 3rd yr and staff/postgrad, if my leg is still nt in pain. Till then, more practise! Gambateh~!

Today We go to WARRRRRRRR!

Well, honestly speaking, it's war only for me but not for most others. I have chosen not to pick between basketball and FYP but both, as mentioned in my last post. The thing is, i wanted to try multitasking and hopefully i can fare well in both.

Anyway, today we 4th yrs are having 2 matches and i'm anxious now to get myself ready for the game. But it seems like raining again like yesterday (which is the reason why BB STAM for us was delayed). Well, now then, i'm gonna get myself into bb mood and just wait patiently for the game. For fyp, well, lets just say its headache to even think about it... xD.

Upcoming BB match; STAM!

March 8th, Monday - By now, most 4th year students are fully occupied with their final year project as the dateline for final drafting is by 12th march. Unfortunately for most of us, Sukan Tahunan Awam or STAM also falls on this week itself and the basketball match is from 11 till 13 March, which is very inconvenient as no one will be able to do full time training for the match.

As for me, I yearn very much to participate in this match as I've never did before, however, there is the issue if I can participate or not as I have not much time left to increase my skill in the game. Well, time is fixed and I have the choice of either doing my FYP or practising for basketball. Both are very important to me and making a choice is like choosing which hand to be chopped away. sigh x.x

a quick bite @ Sushi King, Mid Valley

 15th Feb, Monday - Its 2nd day of New Year, and i decided to loiter at some shopping complex out of boredom; CNY guest, CNY tv shows and CNY etc etc. thus i went to Mid Valley and have some window shopping. the mall was packed with peoples despite being the 2nd day of new year!

After some tiresome non-stop walking and purchasing (bought my fav. eau de toilette), i decided to rest my legs and have a quick bite at Sushi King. Sushi King was no exception with the amount of people inside it. I try to find a seat near the conveyor belt but most were taken. To my disappointment, all tables were either taken or not cleaned yet. Moreover, a section of the restaurant was closed.It was near 10 pm by then.

I get some staffs to clean one of the tables and they did a really poor job at it; some drinks dropped and got spilled all over the floor below the seating area but they overlooked it. I asked them to mop it up but by then, i can clearly see their discontentment and resentment to do the job; there were no smiles but gloomy facial expression.

 When i finally get seated, there were no one to take my orders and there were no empty clean plates on my table. Once again i have to get someone over to place my order and one waiter just came and say "may i take your orders?". So i replied "can i have the menu?"...

Well, by this time i realized that the service at Sushi King, Mid valley (lower ground floor) is really really poor. I observe the environment and felt that the restaurant is very noisy and it feels as if one were in the middle pf a fish market of some sort. You can clearly hear the plates clashes, cooking utensils being moved around and the staff chatting among themselves LOUDLY. Above all, there weren't a single smile on the waiter/waitress when serving the customers.

When my food arrives, i realize the sushi wasn't exactly sushi. It was poorly made and the sushi was out of shape. The sushi rice was very loose due to insufficient compression and it really really looses my appetite. Wow... Thank you.. and then, they say some orders cannot be made and they even some of my orders (happens to be my fav. dish). Sigh.

Ah well, you just can't expect so much when its near closing time and the staff are anticipating to go home. But then again, i would like to make a few points:

1) i know its near closing time, but its expected of your job to work late. after all, pizza hut open till 11 pm, yours are only till 10 pm.

2)even if you are tired, the least you could do is to endure it; don't show discontentment to customers cause customers didn't do anything wrong.(i smiled with each & every of them when requesting/ordering, but they just throw back discourteous replies)

3)give some standard level of service, you ain't working at some kopitiam or mamak stalls. no customers will ever want to revisit a restaurant with unpleasant staffs

There are actually more small annoyance, but i guess i rather leave it out. The conclusion, two thumbs down for Sushi King, Mid Valley. Unless they improve their level of service, i would never step into that branch of Sushi King.

Messing around with photoshop - pt 1

I'm not so "acquainted" with Photoshop but since it can do lots of cool stuffs and my frens have been using it for both good purpose and misuses, i was kinda motivated/inspired + intrigued to learn it.

So i took a short course not long ago from sensei TT. Well, i did manage to get some useful tips though i forgotten most of it... paiseh.

Anyway, was kind of  "sot liao" tonight and spend 1hr + of my golden time on Photoshop on some mischief and here's the product :

New Year 2010

The first event of this year for me would be New Year countdown cum celebration for me @ Queensbay. Woohoo! I was in luck since some of my friends decided to celebrate the start of the year outdoor instead of sitting in  their hostel room. And since i couldn't go home, i've decided to take the opportunity to celebrate it with them.

We went at around 6 and since it is T minus 6 to countdown, we went lepak + SHOPPING! Oopss.. sorry la gurls, it isn't your TM to shop...xD
